Botox

Botox for Beginners

Botox is a frequent cosmetic injection that gained attention from celebrities when it was first mentioned in the media, either alarming or attracting people. Botox is now an increasingly prevalent phenomenon. Some people are unsure about whether they are a good candidate for botox, if it is safe, and when to begin getting it done.

First off, everyone can benefit from botox—as long as they are not nursing or pregnant! Individuals can begin in their twenties or even as late as their seventies. Botox is a good option for people who want to start taking preventative measures or for those hard-to-get wrinkles on their skin. Botox, also known as Botulinum Toxin, is a neurotoxin that relaxes muscles by safely causing partial paralysis. The lines become less noticeable when the muscle relaxes.  In addition to preventing and smoothing wrinkles, it is also excellent for treating migraines, sweating, and muscular spasms. We also offer other types of Botulinum Toxin at our practice such as Xeomin and Dysport.

Once the Botox is injected, results begin in two days and full results can be seen at the two week mark. The typical duration of Botox is three months, though this might vary depending on a patient’s baseline, how well they maintain their Botox, and other factors including exercise and overall lifestyle.

Typically, eleven lines, crow’s feet, and the forehead are injected with Botox. As stated earlier, Botox is not limited to the face. The jelly roll under the eye, bunny lines on the nose, nasal flare, trapezius, known as “Barbie Botox,” underarm injection for hyperhidrosis, chin dimpling known as “orange peel chin,” and a lip flip that is injected into the upper lip are some more sites where an individual might benefit from Botox injections.

Botox is a versatile treatment with both cosmetic and medical applications. It has provided many individuals with non-invasive solutions to rejuvenate their skin and make them more confident in their appearance.
